Development of environmental friendly materials
Peterková, Jitka ; ,, Milan Machatka, (referee) ; Plachý, Jan (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
Increasing demand for new progressive construction materials requires development of modern environmentally friendly materials with excellent end-use properties and reasonable price. One of the main objectives of material research in building industry is using renewable resources of raw materials of industrial waste for development of new construction materials. Current trend of thermal insulation of building constructions results in development of environmentally friendly insulation materials based on renewable material resources from agriculture and stock farming, which could became alternative for current common use insulation materials in the future. The thesis describes research and development of insulation materials based on natural fibres of agricultural origin; in particular fibres of hemp, flax and jute. Hydrothermal behavior of developed materials is studied including computational simulation of behavior of researched materials after building in the construction.
Study of physical properties of natural thermal insulation materials
Janíček, Vít ; Kabelka, František (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis describes factors influencing behaviour of thermal insulation, demands placing on thermal insulation and various types of natural thermal insulation materials. The main task in the thesis deals with the possibility of substitution classic thermal insulation for natural thermal insulation.
Composites based on natural fibers
Hahn, Filip ; Poláček, Petr (referee) ; Přikryl, Radek (advisor)
The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis deals with current state of art in the field of composite materials based on natural fibers and polymer matrices, and with production methods of the composite materials. The practical part focuses on the testing of the mechanical properties of sisal and flax fibers and on their chemical treatment by NaOH solution. The above mentioned fibers and unsaturated polyester resin were used to produce composite materials by means of pultrusion process. The flexural properties of the material samples were tested and compared to those of glass fiber composites.
Pultrusion process of composite based on flax fibres
Hahn, Filip ; Poláček, Petr (referee) ; Přikryl, Radek (advisor)
Theoretical part of master's thesis is focused on chemical treatments of natural fibers and their use as reinforcement material in polymer composites. Flax fibers were treated with two different silane coupling agents to improve their adhesion with polymer matrix. Nature of treatment was studied by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Composites based on both treated and untreated flax fibers were prepared by pultrusion.technique. Mechanical properties and water absorption of prepared composites were evaluated.
Properties of biocomposites based on flax fibers
Pelánová, Markéta ; Obruča, Stanislav (referee) ; Přikryl, Radek (advisor)
This thesis is focused on composites, which are composed of degradable components. The theoretical part deals with composite materials, treatment of fibers and properties of composites. The purpose of this study is to create a composite consisting of polyhydroxybutyrate, which is reinforced with flax fibers with various modifications. The thesis also evaluates the effect of reinforcing fibers in the composite material on the tensile properties and hydrolytic stability and degradability of the composite in compost in laboratory conditions.
Study of hygrotherma behavior of thermal insulating materials based on natural fibers
Kosturová, Andrea ; Peterková, Jitka (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
The content of this work is to describe the transport of heat and moisture in thermal insulation materials based on natural fibers. The disadvantage in using these materials when incorporated into the construction is their low resistance to moisture. Therefore this work is further interested on possible modifications of natural fibers, which could correct it. Implemented literature research is approaching trends in the usage of dynamic simulations of heat and moisture transfer through material. Based on the findings from previous works on the VUT and theoretical part there were applied various kinds of impregnating preparations on a sample of insulation from hemp and the evaluation of their effect on the properties of the insulator.
Cultivation of hemp Cannabis sativa L. for biogas production: methodology for practice
Honzík, Roman ; Bjelková, Marie ; Muňoz, Jaime ; Váňa, Vojtěch
The basic aim of the methodology is to provide farmers, agricultural advisors, providers of biogas plants and anyone others the basic information about growing and processing for biogas a prospective crop - hemp Cannabis sativa L. Up to now, a comprehensive methodology for cultivation and utilization of this crop for biogas production is not processed. The publication provides basic botanical characteristics of the crop, specifies its soil and ecological habitat requirements, describes the agricultural technologies for seeding, cultivation, fertilization, plant protection, harvesting and post-harvest ensiling and gives an overview of potential yields of biomass and biogas, especially methane including their economic evaluation.
